How I Made This List
The clothing items I’ll be sharing here were collected over a few years and over various thrifting trips. I don’t believe you need a completely new wardrobe each year, and prefer purchasing items I know I will wear again and again! That being said, my tastes do evolve, so I add a few new pieces now and again. My favorites also tend to shift from year to year. The collection you see here are the pieces I am most excited to wear this Spring!
I’ve tried my best to include the prices I paid for each item for you so you can get an idea of the good deals you can find! What I do to keep track of the prices over the years is take pictures of my thrift store finds with the price tags on and visible. That way if I ever want to remember how much something cost me I can look back through my camera roll and find them fairly easily. I’m guilty of being that person who loves to tell people how little my clothes cost when someone comments about them.
“Wow, I love your shirt!”
“Thanks, it was only $3.50!”
My Top 10 Thrift Store Finds for Spring 2021
1. Striped Long Sleeve Button-Up
I got this shirt from Talize for $4 during a 50% off sale. It is by a brand called Arizona. I love it because it is sturdy and warm. It can be worn open like a cardigan or buttoned-up as a shirt. It’s actually a men’s shirt, which is why it was probably priced so low (unfair, I know).
2. Striped High-Neck T-Shirt
I got this shirt for $3 at Value Village during a 50% off sale. It is from American Eagle and is super soft. It is cropped to a length that works perfectly with high-waisted pants. The higher neckline makes it great for layering. This is one of my more recent buys and I’ve actually already been wearing it all Winter.
3. Cropped Bird Top
I got this top at Talize for $3 during a 50% off sale. It is originally from H&M. I like it for Spring because the fabric is thicker and warmer than a regular t-shirt, making it a good shirt for transitioning to warmer weather.
4. Mid-Length Skirt
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find any information about how much I paid for this skirt. It is made by a brand called A.V.V Standard, which is a Japanese brand. I’ve had it for quite a while but only started really wearing it recently. At the time that I got it, I didn’t wear it because it was knee length and I mostly wore shorter skirts. Now that I’m older, the length is exactly why I like it. It is flowy and comfortable. The length is still short, but long enough that it has a more mature style.
5. Jean Button-Up
I got this shirt for $4.50 at Value Village during a 50% off sale. The label says the brand is i/d, but I wasn’t able to find any information about it. The material is very soft and comfortable. I usually wear it open like a cardigan, but you can also wear it buttoned-up just as a regular shirt.
6. Elastic Waist Jeans
I got these jeans for only $4 at Talize during a 50% off sale. They are from a brand called Jones New York. These are going to be my go-to jeans this Spring. The elastic waist makes them super comfortable, which is what I’m going to need after wearing sweatpants for a year in lockdown!
7. Green T-Shirt
I got this shirt for $2.50 at Talize during a 50% off sale. The tag had been cut out, so I have no idea what brand originally made it. It was probably priced lower because the brand is unknown, but the material feels high-quality. It feel like it will last a long time, which is what I want in my clothes.
8. Plaid Pull-Over Shirt
I got this shirt for $5 at Talize during a 50% off sale. It is from the brand Uniqlo. It is super soft and comfortable and makes a great Spring layer. If it’s a colder day you can wear a shirt underneath. If it’s a hotter day, the shirt will protect you from the sun, but you stay fairly cool because the sides a wide and hang quite loose.
9. Grey Textured Shirt
I got this shirt from Talize during a 50% off sale for only $3. It is from the brand Garage. The shirt has a subtle striping on it because if the weaving pattern of the fabric. I like it because it is a good length for high-waisted pants and has a unique neckline. It works well for spring because it is warmer that a regular thin t-shirt.
10. Black and White Vans
I got these shoes for $7.50 at Value Village during a 50% off sale. They are real Vans and not just look a likes, so they were a really good find. They look a bit warn out in the photo, but most of that is from me wearing them. When I bought them they were very close to new condition. Finding good shoes at the thrift store that actually fit me is really rare (I have big feet), so I was really excited about these!
Here are what some of the items look like on!
