Fall is here! At the start of every season a lot of bloggers post about the fashion trends for the season. Since I shop for (almost) all my clothes at thrift stores and don’t buy into fast fashion trends, I decided to put a thrifting spin on this seasonal trend. I thought I would share some of my favorite thrift store finds for the Fall season to inspire you to go thrifting yourself! Let me know if you enjoy this post, and maybe I will make this a series!

10 Thrift Store Finds Perfect for Fall

Thrifting is so good for the planet, and for your wallet! If you’re new to thrifting or are on the fence about it check out my post: Why I Thrift (Almost) all My Clothes! In that post I go into a lot more detail about how shopping for your clothes second hand has a positive impact on the planet (and on yourself).

How I Made This List

The clothing items I’ll be sharing here were collected over a few years and over various thrifting trips. I don’t believe you need a completely new wardrobe each year, and prefer purchasing items I know I will wear again and again! That being said, my tastes do evolve, so I do add a few new pieces now and again, and my favorites tend to shift. The collection you see here are the pieces I am most excited to wear this Fall!

I’ve tried my best to include the prices I paid for each item for you so you can get an idea of the good deals you can find! What I do to keep track of the prices over the years is take pictures of my thrift store finds with the price tags on and visible. That way if I ever want to remember how much something cost me I can look back through my camera roll and find them fairly easily. I’m guilty of being that person who loves to tell people how little my clothes cost when someone comments about them.

“Wow, I love your shirt!”

“Thanks, it was only $3.50!”

My Top 10 Thrift Store Finds for Fall 2020

1. Over-Sized Patterned Sweater
Over-Sized Patterned Sweater

I got this sweater at Talize for $6.99! The tag on the sweater says it’s from a brand called Fellini. From what I can find online it is probably short for Giorgio Fellini, which is a brand that seems to have mainly existed in the 80s. I always love a good vintage thrift store find! It is also super warm and cozy.

2. Velvet Bodycon Dress
Velvet Bodycon Dress

I got this dress at Talize for $5 during one of their 50% off sales. It’s originally from H&M. I like it because I’m a sucker for velvet dresses and because it has some 90s vibes going for it. The shininess of the velvet gives it a golden appearance that goes well with black accessories.

3. Cozy Wool Cardigan
Cozy Wool Cardigan

I got this cardigan from the Union Gospel Mission Thrift Store for $10. It is originally from the brand Babaton sold at Aritzia. Similar cardigans from this brand sell for around $100 new! I love this cardigan because it keeps you super warm for how thin it looks. I get cold really easily so I always look way more overdressed than the people around me in the Fall. This cardigan makes it look like I’m wearing a light layer while it feels like I have a warm jacket on!

4. Brown Casual Boots

I got these shoes at Talize for $9 during a 50% off sale. When I got them they looked like they hadn’t even been worn outside before! They are from a brand called Clarks, which is a fairly high-quality brand. Shoes like these would have been between $150-$200 new! They are really comfortable, and match well with lot off different outfits.

5. Grey Fleece
Grey Fleece

I got this zip-up fleece from Value Village for only $4 during a 50% off sale! It is originally from Uniqlo, which is a Japanese clothing company know for their basics. I think I purchased this before the first location had opened in Canada so it wasn’t aware of the brand at the time. I just thought it was so comfortable! It is perfect for staying warm on a Fall walk, and it has really good pockets!

6. Striped Tee
Striped Tee

I got this shirt from Value Village during a 50% off sale for only $2! This shirt was originally from Forever 21, which is a brand I don’t usually go for because the clothing is usually priced quite similarly to what you can buy it for new, but this was a steal! I’ve been really into stripes lately, and I like how it adds a bit of Fall colours to an outfit.

7. Olive Green Jeans
Olive Green Jeans

I got these jeans for $7.50 at Talize during a 50% off sale. They are originally from the brand Dynamite. Most of my jeans are black, so I bought these to incorporate a bit of colour. They pair really well with the brown boots!

8. Green Army-Style Jacket

I got this Jacket for $6.49 from Value Village during a 50% off sale. It is originally from Eddie Bauer. It is good for layering, so it works well during the transition from Summer to Fall. You can see in the photo that it pairs nicely with other items on this list.

9. Copper Long Sleeve
Copper Long Sleeve

I got this shirt from Talize for $3.50 during a 50% off sale. It is orignially from Dynamite. I love it for Fall because the colour matches the Fall leaves. It is cropped at the perfect length for high-waisted pants.

10. Collared Sweater
Collared Sweater

I got this sweater from Value Village for $5 during a 50% off sale. It is originally from a brand called Browny. It looks really cute when tucked into a skirt like shown here. Being a lighter sweater, it can also be layered under another top so the collar peaks out.
